Hi All,
We are implementing IP Address Manager in one of our client. We're adding DHCP Server but we are having difficulty in the following:
1. DHCP Servers are in remote location. We have to allow the port used by DHCP Server in the Firewall to communicate with Solarwinds. The problem is DHCP server used RPC port which is dynamic in nature. We can configure static port for RPC but the problem is one port (RPC port) is also configured for a specific application in the DHCP server. Ex: port 60001 is confgured for communication with Solarwinds Server and port 60002 is configured for other application. Do we have a way that we can configure a specific port in Solarwinds IPAM Server so that it will detect/communicate in port 60001 and not in 60002?
2. Is there a way that we can monitor DHCP Server without enabling SNMP? Will the same information (reserve, available, used, transient) available without SNMP? The way I understand the setup, IPAM will monitor DHCP Server via SNMP and RPC port. The client have strict security in their servers that SNMP should be disable.
Thank You!
